Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Identifiers and contact details, such as your name, email address, mailing address, account login information, and similar account identifiers.
  • Account and profile information, such as your role, account status, email verification status, and saved preferences.
  • User-generated content and submissions, such as saved searches, flagged opportunities, notes, blog content submitted by administrators, and privacy request form submissions.
  • Commercial or transaction-related information, such as subscription records, payment status, billing cycle, payment receipts, and Stripe-related identifiers when billing is active.
  • Internet or network activity information that is reasonably necessary to operate the service, such as session-related data, website requests, system logs, and security-related records generated by the application or hosting environment.
  • Communications data, such as verification emails, alert email history, and support or privacy request correspondence.
  • Government contracting opportunity data imported from SAM.gov, which may be displayed, searched, or saved within the service. This opportunity data is generally business or public procurement information rather than user account data.

How We Collect Information

  • Directly from you when you create an account, save searches, submit forms, request support, submit a privacy request, or interact with billing once enabled.
  • Automatically from your browser or device as needed to maintain sessions, operate the website, secure the service, and keep technical logs.
  • From third parties that help us operate the service, such as payment providers or email providers, when those tools are enabled.
  • From public sources such as SAM.gov for federal contracting opportunity information.

How We Use Information

  • To provide the service, including account creation, login, opportunity search, saved searches, alerts, flagged opportunities, and blog access.
  • To communicate with you, including account verification, operational notices, billing-related notices, privacy request responses, and alert emails you request.
  • To maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the website and related systems.
  • To comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce terms, and protect the rights, safety, and security of users, our business, and others.
  • To prepare for or support analytics and advertising features if later implemented, subject to applicable law and any required disclosures or choices.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

At this time, the service primarily uses session-based website functionality needed for login and account operation. We are planning to use Google Analytics in the future and may use advertising tools later, but those tools are not planned for launch. If we add analytics, advertising cookies, or similar tracking technologies, we will update this Privacy Policy and any required notices.

How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information to data brokers. We do not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose personal information in the following limited circumstances:

  • To service providers or contractors that help us operate the website, such as hosting, email delivery, payment processing, or similar operational support.
  • To comply with law, legal process, or governmental requests.
  • To protect rights, safety, property, security, and the integrity of the service.
  • As part of a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset sale, subject to applicable legal requirements.

Data Retention

  • User account, subscription, and saved-search data are retained for the life of the account unless deletion is required by law or requested and granted.
  • Payment-related records are retained for the life of the account and longer when reasonably necessary for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, legal, or compliance purposes.
  • System logs, sync logs, and email logs are retained for no more than one year unless longer retention is legally required or necessary for an active dispute, investigation, or security matter.
  • Blog posts, categories, tags, and related administrative content may be retained indefinitely unless we decide to remove or archive them.
  • Privacy request records may be retained as needed to document compliance and respond to repeat or related requests.

Children and Age Restrictions

Sam Simplified is intended for users in the United States who are at least 16 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 in connection with this service.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
